How to add alternative PDF Destinations in Mac OSX

April 28, 2016 by chrisbog

Sometimes it is useful to PDF something on the screen and send it to an alternative application like Omnifocus.   For example, if I get an email receipt in email, and I want to print this out, I would like to save the email as a PDF and then automatically send in my email to my Omnifocus Sync Service.

To do this, we need to add a new destination for the PDF Services.   You can follow the instructions below:

Look for the PDF Services folder in the Library folder of your home folder.

~/Library/PDF Services

Copy an alias of the Outlook Application into the PDF Services Folder.   The easiest way is to use finder and hold down the Option + Command and dragging Outlook to the PDF Services folder.

This will not create a new destination called Outlook and then you can use it in the PDF box in an print dialogs.
