El Capitan – iMessages not showing contacts from Exchange

October 27, 2015 by chrisbog

I have both iCloud and Exchange syncing on my computer.   iCloud is used for personal contacts and Exchange is used for my work and business emails and contacts.    Normally this setting works great and when I use the iMessage platform, anytime a text comes in, it will display the right name.

However, after upgrading to El Capitan, iMessages stopped displaying my contacts from Exchange.   All the settings were set correctly, however, we were unable to see any Exchange contacts.

Believe it or not, a simple reboot of El Capitan fixed the issue.   I’m really not sure why, but it definitely fixed my problem.
